Information for Participants

The K²ID project team would like to thank all study participants for the time and effort they invested in answering the survey, thereby making an important contribution to the project’s success. Furthermore, this page provides a brief overview of the rules of data protection.

The K2ID studies are conducted by the DIW Berlin in collaboration with the Freie Universität Berlin and Bielefeld University, respectively. Data collection is performed by TNS Infratest Sozialforschung, the leading independent institute in the area of social science survey research in Germany. All institutes involved in the research project abide by the regulations outlined in the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) and all other provisions of data protection law, and together bear the responsibility in terms of data protection legislation.

All survey results will be presented in anonymized form, meaning that they cannot be traced back to any individuals or ECEC facilities. Information provided in different surveys can be matched via code numbers, without making use of names or addresses. All addresses will be deleted upon completion of the studies.

In the years to come, the information obtained from the projects will be made available to diverse groups of researchers, and will form the basis of their research and teaching. Data will be delivered in anonymized form only so that identification of single participants or institutions is impossible.
